Sahid Kamrul (Md. Sahidul Islam) is a Bangladeshi writer, public intellectual, and columnist currently pursuing advanced studies in English-speaking cultures and literary studies at the University of Bremen, Germany. His work brings together literary scholarship, cultural criticism, and public thought, with particular engagement in postcolonial literature, theory, South Asian history, the politics and historicity of the subcontinental Partition, philosophy, and theology,Global South and transnational studies, ecocriticism and Anglophone writings.
He previously completed an M.A. with First Class First distinction and a B.A. (Honours) at the University of Dhaka. Alongside his academic work, he writes regular columns in leading Bangladeshi newspapers on contemporary national and global political issues, cultural relations, and intellectual history. He works across multiple linguistic traditions and has expertise in seven languages.
